Williamson Labs was built on a simple belief: customers deserve honest advice and reliable technical services from someone they can trust.
My interest in technology started long before I became self-employed. Working in the industry, I experienced approaches to customer service that didn’t sit right with me – particularly when people were charged more than necessary or encouraged to purchase services that weren’t genuinely appropriate for their needs.
I wanted to do things differently.
Rather than focus on selling as much as possible, I wanted to build a business where customers receive straightforward explanations, sensible recommendations and work carried out properly.
That philosophy remains at the heart of Williamson Labs today.
From TechTopia to Williamson Labs
My self-employed journey began in 2011 under the name TechTopia, providing computer and device repairs alongside website design, hosting and technical support.
Over time, the work grew to encompass more complex infrastructure, Linux servers, networking, hosting management and security.
As the range of services and technical experience developed, the business evolved into Williamson Labs – a name that better reflects the breadth of work undertaken today.
The name may have changed, but the underlying principles haven't.

Williamson Labs is independently operated, which means you're dealing directly with the person responsible for your work.
My experience spans website design and development, Linux server infrastructure, website hosting, networking, security and practical IT troubleshooting.
That broader technical background allows me to consider more than the immediate task. A website needs more than an attractive design; it also needs appropriate hosting, performance, security and ongoing maintainability. Similarly, solving an IT problem properly often means understanding what caused it rather than simply treating the symptoms.
I believe in taking the time to understand what a customer needs, explaining the available options clearly and recommending an appropriate solution.
You won't be passed between salespeople, account managers and support departments. You'll deal directly with me.

For local customers, meetings and onboarding can be arranged in person where practical.
Website design, hosting and suitable technical services can also be provided remotely to customers elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
